Fast Food Update

It happens all the time.

A sports season ends, and before the trophy is even engraved, ESPN, SI and all the other sports outlets are predicting the next year's champion.

Well, we here at No Huddle Offense are no better. Just over a month after we named Chipotle the best fast food restaurant in America, we're looking forward to next year. At the suggestion of regular reader Adam, we've got our eyes on who is moving up in the world of fast food.

After a particularly satisfying fast food encounter, there's a new sheriff in town. Chipotle is no lock to repeat--even as the winner of the Pseudo-Ethnic Mexican/Italian Region.
That's right, Taco Bell has exploded onto the scene. Value is now the name of the game, and T-Bell is where it's at.

Last night, Mrs. No Huddle Offense and I shared a delicious and filling meal. We each chowed down on two double beef burritos. And we left completely satisfied after spending only $3.74. You can scarcely get a meal for one person at most fast food locations for less than $4.

We love Subway's $5 foot-longs. And we're glad that Quiznos has copied them offering large subs for the same price. But dollar for dollar, nobody in the fast food world holds a candle to Taco Bell right now.

Quiznos is misleading. Only four of their subs are $5 for larges, and they're largely unspectacular. It's their deli style subs, and if I wanted a deli sandwich for $5 I'd go to Copps and their food bar. Most of the rest of their subs are on sale for $7 for their large, which is still a deal (for them), but their advertising is very misleading.

i 100% agree on the cheesy double beef burritos. i underestimated it's greatness and had one at work yesterday. needless to say, i needed a napkin afterwards - for my pants.

although i still think chipotle deserved that crown this year, with the direction the economy is going right now, saving money is number 1, and nobody else is even close to taco bell...then again nobody else employs a full staff of cash-paid mexicans at $3.50 an hour either...mcdonalds is closest in the saving money category, sticking to a team of employees comprised of highschoolers, high school dropouts, and retards (ding, fries are done). but the simple fact that mcdonalds had to deploy a "dollar menu" when there are several things on taco bell's menu under one US dollar, you know they're just not playing at the same level right now

You all keep forgetting about Taco Johns! Six pack and a pound (six tacos and a pound of oles) for less than 6 bucks. This feeds 2-3 people!!!! You cant get that kind of deal at taco bell. Oh and you know what else? Taco Tuesday, all summer at T-Johns you get 59 cent beef tacos. 59 CENTS!! What is it at T-Bell? 79 or 89? Granted it's only tuesdays but regularly they are only 89 cents to begin with. T-Bell sucks. And Taco Johns is absolutely leading the charge on saving US money.
